Why I Refuse to Worship at the Alter of Keith Olberman

As time goes on, nothing changes, that's my biggest problem with our 'civilization'. I dub it in quotes because as a macrosocial entity we aren't civilized in the least. I could sit here and expound upon the specifics, but in all simplicity when one man (or woman) refuses to see another as their equal, all civility is lost. Iraq, poverty, drug use, child abuse, spousal abuse, our most prime and pathetic 'educational institutions' and their ubiquitous need to install mind-numbing platitudes into our minds are all indications that many men (and women) view each other as not-quite con-specific, or as an 'other' that is somehow less worthy.

This brings me to our daily dose of mind-control serum, namely - the media in all it's subtle forms. What I mean is, the media or the MSM is not just the news and 'information' delivered in magazines, but it's our entertainment as well. Our Survivor, our Real World, our Heroes and American Idols, Deal or No Deals, Who wants to be a Millionaires all these cheap imitations of life are scripted, ergo - not real. Yet millions of Americans and other 'first worlders' glue themselves to that box every night for a few hours and absorb the reality presented AS IF it contains an ounce of reality.

That is likely why I read books, they are no more real then TV but the key bit is many of them contain several helpings more of what I'd call truth then anything you'll find on that infernal box with it's endless foray of advertisements for shit we don't need. One I'm into at the moment 'The God's of Eden' (will review when I'm done it)is an incredibly interesting tome, but it should be prefaced with a thorough reading of UFOs and the National Security State - but I digress. One of the key points early in the work is that factionalism, creating and fomenting conflict between groups is one way an invisible hand (third party) can maintain control over a group. Bramley (the author) quotes extensively from Machiavelli's The Prince, and demonstrates that this has been an effective means at conquering and controlling the hearts and minds of spiritual beings, namely humans for centuries if not millenia.

When Bill O'Reilly's characteropathic ramblings became the focus of national attention I knew I was in deep shit. The amounts of lies per second that, and I hesitate to use the word, man utters trumps even George W Bush and his psychopathic cadre of handlers and cult-followers. That's probably why, when Keith Olberman made his appearance on the scene, gaining internet popularity by speaking impassioned truths that no one else in the mainstream dared approach, I rejoiced, as if a cool breeze had struck my face on a sweltering summer's day.

As time goes on, nothings changed. Sure we still have Olberman shouting ounces of truth from his pulpit, and like Jon Stewart - both achieved popularity for speaking the truth. But here's the problem, they get credit for it, when in point of fact, they keep the most sensitive truths veiled from sight. Where does Olberman stand on 9-11, well he still thinks (or at least publicly maintains) that Osama bin Laden planned & executed the attacks. Anyone with two-firing neurons, and internet connection and a desire to know the truth already knows that the Mossad/CIA/Pentagon were the primary benefactors and thus likely perpetrators. Hell this shit is common knowledge in many countries in the world, and yet we still hear different factions (see my point?) in the 9-11 truth movement bickering over how the WTCs came down or which alphabet agency was the real culprit.

I like Keith Olberman, but here's my problem:

Olbermann’s success, like O’Reilly’s, is evidence of viewer cocooning—the inclination to seek out programming that reinforces one’s own firmly held political views. “People want to identify,” Griffin says. “They want the shortcut. ‘Wow, that guy’s smart. I get him.’ In this crazy world of so much information, you look for places where you identify, or you see where you fit into the spectrum, because you get all this information all day long.”

His viewers and internet worshipers don't get it anymore then Bill O'Reilly's do. Like Democrats and Republicans, these artificial and transparent apparatuses are nothing more then tools of control, they corral you into a box which keeps your thoughts isolated from ever seeking out information on your own - which, is likely the ultimate source of our spiritual freedom - the ability and desire to seek out and share information on an individual basis.

Keith Olberman's refusal to broadcast the truth on 9-11 makes him an effective tool of the matrix just as Bill O'Reilly's daily vomit of lies. To compound the lie he attacks Bush and O'Reilly and other establishment tools as if they are normal humans who can be reasoned with, and here he conceals the most potent fact in our arsenal - that these men are not what they appear. They have no conscience, no morals or ethics, no remorse or compassion, no ability to love, they are ponerized (or worse: psychopaths, characteropaths or other psychological deviants) - which means their essence is likely dead, the very thing that makes us human, and thus they are no more then animated corpses roving the wasteland in search of their next meal of flesh and blood.

This clever deception keeps the masses embroiled in a never ending conflict in which both sides suffer from a lethal dose of 'Right-man syndrome', both sides think they are right and will quarrel until the other accepts it. Naturally the other side will never accept it and thus the quarrel continues ad infinitum, and guess who benefits from this? Why the Oligarch's, and ultimately the Dark Power that rules this planet.

Liberal/Conservative, Democrat/Republican, Olberman/O'Reilly - all of it keeps us enslaved in a perpetual cycle of conflict when we could be looking for truth on our own. The truth that I've found: There is some group(s) that controls much of the on-goings on this planet, controls our culture, our religions, our finances, our politics, our entertainment and our education. They've likely been in power much longer then any of us have suspected, and they remain Adam Smith's Hidden Hand - hiding in shadows covertly keeping us embroiled in conflict, enriching themselves at our expense.

Don't take my word for it, here's a search engine, a forum (I highly recommend the search function) and two (1 & 2) incredible primers.

Two phrases that may alleviate the intensity of the task, "Seek and Ye Shall Find" & "The Truth Shall Set You Free"

Amurika - Bestest Cuntry on Earf.

Bad spelling jokes aside, I find myself a bit disconnected today. I'm starting to recover from a mild respitory infection i picked up over the weekend, but i had some totally fucked up dreams that really put me off. I was also reading this piece about JFK and had to stop half way through because of the depressing statistics quoted. Here's a sample:

* 27,000 Americans commit suicide.
* 5,000 attempt suicide; some estimates are higher.
* 26,000 die from fatal accidents in the home.
* 23,000 are murdered.
* 85,000 are wounded by firearms.
* 38,000 of these die, including 2,600 children.
* 13,000,000 are victims of crimes including assault, rape, armed robbery, burglary, larceny, and arson.
* 135,000 children take guns to school.
* 5,500,000 people are arrested for all offenses (not including traffic violations).
* 125,000 die prematurely of alcohol abuse.
* 473,000 die prematurely from tobacco-related illnesses; 53,000 of these are nonsmokers.
* 6,500,000 use heroin, crack, speed, PCP, cocaine or some other hard drug on a regular basis.
* 5,000+ die from illicit drug use. Thousands suffer serious debilitations.
* 1,000+ die from sniffing household substances found under the kitchen sink. About 20 percent of all eighth-graders have "huffed" toxic substances. Thousands suffer permanent neurological damage.
* 31,450,000 use marijuana; 3,000,000 of whom are heavy usuers.
* 37,000,000, or one out of every six Americans, regularly use emotion controlling medical drugs. The users are mostly women. The pushers are doctors; the suppliers are pharmaceutical companies; the profits are stupendous.
* 2,000,000 nonhospitalized persons are given powerful mind-control drugs, sometimes described as "chemical straitjackets."
* 5,000 die from psychoactive drug treatments.
* 200,000 are subjected to electric shock treatments that are injurious to the brain and nervous system.
* 600 to 1,000 are lobotomized, mostly women.
* 25,000,000, or one out of every 10 Americans, seek help from psychiatric, psychotherapeutic, or medical sources for mental and emotional problems, at a cost of over $4 billion annually.
* 6,800,000 turn to nonmedical services, such as ministers, welfare agencies, and social counselors for help with emotional troubles. In all, some 80,000,000 have sought some kind of psychological counseling in their lifetimes.
* 1,300,000 suffer some kind of injury related to treatment at hospitals.
* 2,000,000 undergo unnecessary surgical operations; 10,000 of whom die from the surgery.
* 180,000 die from adverse reactions to all medical treatments, more than are killed by airline and automobile accidents combined.
* 14,000+ die from overdoses of legal prescription drugs.
* 45,000 are killed in auto accidents. Yet more cars and highways are being built while funding for safer forms of mass transportation is reduced.
* 1,800,000 sustain nonfatal injuries from auto accidents; but 150,000 of these auto injury victims suffer permanent impairments.
* 126,000 children are born with a major birth defect, mostly due to insufficient prenatal care, nutritional deficiency, environmental toxicity, or maternal drug addiction.
* 2,900,000 children are reportedly subjected to serious neglect or abuse, including physical torture and deliberate starvation.
* 5,000 children are killed by parents or grandparents.
* 30,000 or more children are left permanently physically disabled from abuse and neglect. Child abuse in the United States afflicts more children each year than leukemia, automobile accidents, and infectious diseases combined. With growing unemployment, incidents of abuse by jobless parents is increasing dramatically.
* 1,000,000 children run away from home, mostly because of abusive treatment, including sexual abuse, from parents and other adults. Of the many sexually abused children among runaways, 83 percent come from white families.
* 150,000 children are reported missing.
* 50,000 of these simply vanish. Their ages range from one year to mid-teens. According to the New York Times, "Some of these are dead, perhaps half of the John and Jane Does annually buried in this country are unidentified kids."
* 900,000 children, some as young as seven years old, are engaged in child labor in the United States, serving as underpaid farm hands, dishwashers, laundry workers, and domestics for as long as ten hours a day in violation of child labor laws.
* 2,000,000 to 4,000,00 women are battered. Domestic violence is the single largest cause of injury and second largest cause of death to U.S. women.
* 700,000 women are raped, one every 45 seconds.
* 5,000,000 workers are injured on the job; 150,000 of whom suffer permanent work-related disabilities, including maiming, paralysis, impaired vision, damaged hearing, and sterility.
* 100,000 become seriously ill from work-related diseases, including black lung, brown lung, cancer, and tuberculosis.
* 14,000 are killed on the job; about 90 percent are men.
* 100,000 die prematurely from work-related diseases.
* 60,000 are killed by toxic environmental pollutants or contaminants in food, water, or air.
* 4,000 die from eating contaminated meat.
* 20,000 others suffer from poisoning by E.coli 0157-H7, the mutant bacteria found in contaminated meat that generally leads to lifelong physical and mental health problems. A more thorough meat inspection with new technologies could eliminate most instances of contamination--so would vegetarianism.

I don't put much stock in statistics, but I do think a lot of this crap happens, and even more of it goes unreported. To me, the numbers aren't what's important. I value each and every life, there's no difference between the suffering of one, and the suffering of a hundred. The fact that one person died hurts me just as much as the fact that oh say, two thousand, seven hundred and fifty or so died.

Further - No one talks about this crap, it's not on tv, the radio or in print. In fact, when i overhear some radio shows I can't help but get agitated. They'll be rambling on about the latest celebrity to drop the N-Bomb or whatever other insignificance Clear Channel wants to push, and yet there's like... a global backdrop of crisis, suffering, disaster, in short death & destruction - but let's just push it out of our minds, hell there's nothing we can do about it anyway.... might as well just fuck all & get high until the apocalypse right?

Wrong.

"The future's not set, there is no fate but what we make for ourselves." - T2
"The future's not written in stone!" - a tearful and emotional Claire, from Heroes

Ever heard of non_linearity?

"Any process where the output is not in direct proportion to the input can be called non-linear. In fact very few processes of nature are linear. As used in this material, the term non-linear refers to processes where a very small change at the beginning makes a large qualitative difference at the end. The straw that breaks the camel's back is a proverbial example of a non-linear process. The often heard adage about the beat of butterfly wings triggering a hurricane on the other side of the world is another."

This basically flies in the face of the "I can't do anything" excuse. You could change the world by reading the news, picking up a book, saying hello to a stranger, or commenting on someone elses blog. But don't go off on a crusade because you read the inane ramblings of a pissed and confused twenty-something.... don't feel guilty... don't do anything unless that tiny spark of a conscience suggests it. "You are what you choose to be, you choose." - a small boy to a giant robot in The Iron Giant

I choose to keep rambling on, to hop around to various blogs and link them to things they might not have seen yet. To read book after book, Psychology, History, Science and tons of fiction. To post rebellious liberal jargon on the back of my car, currently "Stop Bush, Save Lives!" To email, write and phone the phony politicians, eventhough their venality is likely inpenitrable. To relax with video games, and get drunk with friends on the weekends. I'll do everything I can, and I'll never use violence, that's what I've chosen to be.
