Who does that?
What kills me about this whole torture epidemic is that if anyone here in the states goes out, bludgeon's some poor hapless fellow on the street, locks him or her up in their basement and proceeds to torture them via sleep deprivation, beatings, waterboarding, crushing their child's testicles in front of them - what have you, you get locked up! It doesn't matter if you claim the fellow is a "terrorist", it's still a crime, still punishable by years, hopefully decades, if not life behind bars. Yet when you systematically go about doing the same thing to thousands of people, some how that's justifiable?

Can some red-tie-wearing-whack-job explain to me how murder isn't murder when your government does it? How detaining thousands, without reason or justification, and then torturing them - some of them to death - isn't going to create a veritable army of pissed off Muslims ready to strap a bomb to their chest and wage jihad? I know if my brother was abducted, tortured, and then killed by a foreign power I'd be pretty willing to fight them - heck, that's the definition of evil. Then again, and this may be my inner conspiracy theorist, I bet they're doing this just to create an enemy. If we have ten thousand pissed off afghans then we have someone in the middle east to fight. If we have a fight on our hands we have a reason to send our boys over there to die, we have a reason to spend half a trillion dollars waging war every year, and that makes the bankers/weapons manufacturers and their pathocratic ilk very happy.

So to combat this insanity, these conscienceless monsters that rule our world and country, a bunch of us went out last night to protest Karl Rove's appearance @ Radio City. I was lucky enough to get a new toy for Cambodian New Year (Thanks Sam!) and so was able to take some video. The little doo-dad has software on it that let me do some rudimentary editing, so I managed to put a few movies together. The video's speak for themselves, hopefully you'll be inspired to come out on Thursday when we have the big she-bang protest @ Grand Central (hit me up for details)..
